Full bio · 200 words
Greg Langford knows what it takes to get through the worst life can throw at you, because he has done it. Raised the fourth of five children in Winder, Georgia, in a family where mental illness and addiction went unspoken, Greg lost two brothers, a cousin and his best friend to suicide: seven deaths in five years, only one from natural causes. He fought his own battle with alcohol and got sober on February 3, 1999.
Through it all he built a 43-year career in banking, real estate and business. Then, at 57 and with no experience, he took up stand-up comedy to learn how to tell his story. He went on to play the Apollo Theater, Caroline's on Broadway, the Hollywood Improv, the Laugh Factory, the MGM Grand and Kevin Hart Studios, performing in 27 states.
Today Greg is a keynote speaker, Certified Peer Specialist and author of Heroically Well Adjusted: Confronting the Evolution of Insanity, the story of breaking a family cycle of addiction, mental illness and suicide. His signature framework, E=MC² (Endurance = Misery × Comedy²), helps audiences in companies, conferences and schools endure hard seasons and come out stronger.

About 45 seconds read aloud. Pause where marked; the laugh is built in.
Read this to introduce Greg
Our next speaker spent 43 years in banking. Then, at 57, he decided to try stand-up comedy, which tells you he has either tremendous courage or terrible judgment. [pause] It turned out to be courage.
He has played the Apollo Theater, Caroline's on Broadway and stages in 27 states. But the reason he's here today is what he survived before any of that, and what it taught him about getting through anything.
He's the author of Heroically Well Adjusted and the creator of a formula Einstein never thought of. Please welcome Greg Langford.
